Western Railway has efficiently undertaken numerous infrastructural upgradation and augmentation works for the comfort of passengers. In continuation to this, a brand new Skywalk has been commissioned connecting Bandra Terminus to suburban community at Khar Highway station, for the comfort of passengers of outstation trains arriving & departing from Bandra Terminus.
Based on Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Rly, the brand new Skywalk of 4.4 m broad & 314 m lengthy has been commissioned between Bandra Terminus & Khar Highway on 1st July, 2022. With the commissioning of this skywalk, Bandra Terminus is now straight linked with Khar Highway station of Mumbai suburban railway community. This new Skywalk will likely be of nice comfort to outstation passengers. Now, passengers can attain any of the platforms of Bandra Terminus by deboarding at Khar Highway station and taking the Khar South FOB, which in flip is linked to the Skywalk. The Skywalk connects all of the FOBs of Bandra Terminus station. The whole price of the Skywalk is approx. Rs. 14 crore and has been constructed utilizing 510 MT structural metal, 20 MT Reinforcement metal & 240 cum of concrete. With this, whole seven FOBs & Skywalks have been commissioned within the Mumbai suburban part of Western Railway within the monetary yr 2022 – 23.
