An offence has been registered in opposition to a former Shiv Sena corporator and 6 others for allegedly abducting and assaulting a 22-year-old man in a shifting automobile within the western suburb of Borivali right here, police mentioned on Saturday.

The police on Friday registered an FIR beneath part 363 (kidnapping) and different related provisions of the IPC in opposition to former Shiv Sena corporator Sheetal Mhatre and 6 others, an official from MHB police station mentioned.

The complainant has claimed that the accused kidnapped him of their automobile and stored assaulting him within the shifting automobile, he mentioned, including that one of many accused stored taking Mhatre’s identify throughout the assault.

The offence has been registered in opposition to Vishal Jadhav, Kunal Thakur, Manish Patil, Viraj Javeri, Sheetal Mhatre and two unidentified individuals, the official mentioned.
