Mangaluru: The town crime department (CCB) police in southern metropolis on Saturday arrested 12 college students for allegedly possessing ganja and for his or her involvement within the provide of the narcotic substance to college students and the general public within the metropolis.

Police stated the group was nabbed after the police carried out an investigation based mostly on a tip-off that some college students are engaged within the sale of ganja.

A police workforce led by CCB inspector Mahesh Prasad and PSI B Rajendra arrested the scholars from an house at Sooterpete in Valencia within the metropolis. Police stated all college students have been residents of Kerala.

Police reportedly seized 900 gm of ganja price Rs 20,000, smoking pipes, rolling papers, Rs 4,500 money, 11 cellphones and an digital weighing balance from the accused. The seized objects are price Rs 2.85 lakh, sources stated.

All of the accused have been subjected to medical examination and 11 of them have been discovered optimistic for consuming the medication.
